Shipping & Returns

New Zealand Shipping 
The Shop Wellington online team operates during normal business hours. Please allow up to three business days for non-rural orders within the North Island, and an extra business day for rural orders and orders to the South Island.  

 
All New Zealand orders are sent with NZ Couriers or Post Haste. 

  • Standard tracked courier delivery for orders $75.00 and over: Free*
  • Standard tracked courier delivery for orders $74.99 and under: $12 
  • Courier delivery for orders including items marked as Heavy, such as telescopes and large books: $30 
  • For orders including items from multiple different sites, the shipping rate will be multiplied accordingly (e.g. if an order includes items from Space Place and Wellington Museum, standard courier delivery will be $24). Reaching our free shipping threshold of $75.00 will remove all shipping costs.  

 
Australian Shipping  
We currently only offer international shipping to Australia. Our Australia shipping rates are: 

All Australian orders are sent via NZ Couriers. 

  • Standard tracked courier delivery for orders $150.00 and over: Free* 
  • Standard tracked courier delivery for orders $149.99 and under: $35 
  • Any customs duties, tariffs and taxes that apply to the order are the responsibility of the customer. Some products featured on our website may be unable to ship internationally.  
  • For orders including items from multiple different sites, the shipping rate will be multiplied accordingly (e.g. if an order includes items from Space Place and Wellington Museum, standard courier delivery will be $35). Reaching our free shipping threshold of $150.00 will remove all shipping costs. 

 

*On occasion we add products that are not eligible for free shipping. 

 
Rest of World Shipping 
We currently do not offer shipping beyond New Zealand and Australia.  

Returns Policy  

  • Returns are possible in cases of damaged or faulty items only. Returns will not be accepted for any change of mind purchase. If you receive an incorrect or faulty product, please contact us immediately. We will arrange either a goods exchange or a refund.  
  • Goods will not be accepted for return or refund without prior authorisation, and/or that are later than 30 days after you receive the goods.  
  • Returned items must include all original packaging and be in pristine condition with any tags attached. Jewellery will only be accepted if they have not been worn. 
  • If your order is lost during delivery, we will send you a replacement (depending on product availability) once the maximum delivery time has expired. We ask that you contact your local mail centre before contacting us in case your order is being held. All replacement items for lost/damaged products will be shipped at our cost.
  • Credit card refunds will be processed within 5 business days of our receipt of the goods. Credit card surcharges apply as indicated at checkout. If you cancel your order after it has been shipped, the above policy will apply. If you wish to query your final payment, please contact us.
